What is Rehabilitative Yoga?

Do you suffer from chronic pain or tension or are you recovering from an injury? Are you sick of visiting physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists who are unable to solve your issues? If you’re frustrated working out and want to end the cycle of injury and reinjury, then it’s time to fix your pain problems…for good.

I've Been There.

For years, I suffered from chronic back and knee pain. I avoided running for a decade after destroying my knees. I repeatedly pulled muscles working out. My neck and shoulders hurt all the time. Then I discovered a way out. I combined my yoga training with my knowledge of anatomy, functional fitness, myofascial release, and dance to create Rehabilitative Yoga, a holistic approach to pain management.

Life Without Pain Is Possible.

The one-on-one Rehabilitative Yoga program aims to reduce chronic pain, while increasing mobility, flexibility, and strength. The words “yoga” and “flexibility” often conjure images of people with their feet behind their heads. While this can a fun pose to work towards, it doesn’t prepare your body for daily activities. Rehabilitative Yoga focuses on your ability to move freely, easily, and without pain.

I have successfully worked with adults, seniors, and children struggling from back, shoulder, neck, hip, and knee pain. My private yoga students feel stronger, more flexible, and more confident in their abilities as a result of working with me. Read more from my students here.

If you are ready to move again and would like to prevent future injury, I can work with you to create a personalized private corrective exercise program appropriate for your body and level of ability.

Client Testimonials

A health professional recommended I contact Pooja to talk with her about her Rehabilitative Yoga to help with the chronic pain I was in. I have severe arthritis for about 6 years. I have tried herbal supplements, massage, pain relieving creams, acupuncture, changing my diet, and PT. I got a certain amount of relief from each thing but nothing was long lasting and eventually the pain would return.

I was literally hunched over when I walked (with a pronounced limp). Everyone told me I needed to exercise but I felt hopeless because I was so weak. The chronic pain I was in was keeping me from doing things I wanted to do—take walks, hikes, visit a museum—anything that required me to stand and walk.

It’s been about 6 weeks now since I started with Pooja and already I can tell how much my pain has improved. I know in my heart that if I continue with Pooja I can obtain even better results and am looking forward to living my life totally pain free!!!!

I [was] looking for some relief from my back and hip pain. Six months of physical therapy had only gotten me so far. I was so excited to see [Pooja] used Myofascial movements which is great for chronic pain. I felt so good after and I was so impressed with Pooja’s expertise and enthusiasm.
