Yoga as an Anti-Oppression Practice (Panel Discussion)

This virtual panel discussion focuses on looking at the links between yoga and social justice, anti-oppression, anti-capitalism, and anti-racism. Our panelists pull from their expertise as educators and yoga teachers to discuss yoga as being more than a physical practice, approaching cultural appreciation and decolonization of yoga, diversity and inclusion in yoga, and the role and responsibility of those participating in yogic practices (from white yoga teachers to gym owners to fitness professional using "yoga stretches" and "yogic breaths") in promoting anti-oppressive practices in yoga.

Pooja will be moderating this panel with guest panelists Anjali Rao, Anusha Wijeyakumar, Avita Bansee, and Sunaina Rangnekar.
